Light

Light is a form of energy that enables us to see things. It emanates from a source and interacts with objects, reflecting off them to be perceived by our eyes. Our brain processes these signals, allowing us to perceive our surroundings. Maxwell's prediction that magnetic and electric fields propagate in wave forms at the speed of light led to the conclusion that light itself travels in the form of electromagnetic waves. Thus, light is considered a type of electromagnetic radiation.
The nature of light is multifaceted:
It behaves as a ray in phenomena like reflection.
It exhibits wave properties in occurrences such as interference and diffraction.
It manifests as particles, as seen in the photoelectric effect.
This dual nature of light, according to the concept of wave-particle duality in quantum mechanics, implies that light can be understood both as waves and particles, depending on the context. Wave-like behaviors such as diffraction, polarization, and interference find explanation when light is considered as a wave, while particle-like phenomena such as the photoelectric effect are accounted for by assuming light consists of discrete packets known as photons.
